From funding education and nursing scholarships to installing clean water systems and providing vocational training in sewing and design, we don’t just provide aid—we provide a path toward dignity and independence.

Founded in 2012 by Ansie de Wet, then a Bible college student, Influential Missions began its journey. The humanitarian charity was officially registered in December 2012 with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission as Influential Missions & Outreach Programs Inc. We were also granted Gift Recipient Status, enabling us to receive tax-deductible donations to support our mission of assisting those in need.

It started with fourteen passionate bible college students and a mission to make a difference. When Amos Egan invited us to share Christian ministry in Papunya, we didn’t hesitate. Since our very first Northern Territory outreach in April 2013, we have worked hard to build lasting relationships. Over the years, we’ve delivered trailer loads of clothing to Papunya and Yuendumu, filling crucial gaps for families in remote Australia. By running specialised women’s and children’s programs, we aim to show the people we meet that they are loved and never forgotten.

In 2013, Influential Missions established a vital partnership with Ps Asher Zia and Sadaf Asher in Faisalabad, Pakistan. As key team members, this Christian couple oversees all our local projects, with a dedicated focus on the most vulnerable, including widows, the elderly, and families working in brickmaker communities. 

Our initiatives have focused on enhancing safety, health, and economic independence: 

• Infrastructure & Health: We have installed water pumps and constructed toilets for brickmaker families. Additionally, we operate mobile medical clinics and providing free medicine for the sick.
• Empowerment & Education: We walk alongside widows to ensure their children stay in the classroom by covering the costs of fees, books, and stationery. We also believe in empowering the next generation; our sewing school provides young Christian girls a safe environment to learn a valuable craft. By providing each student with a sewing machine at graduation, we give them the means to support themselves and their families with dignity.
• Social Support & Welfare: We provide emergency aid, including food and clothing, to those in need.
• Educational Sponsorship: We support children from disadvantaged backgrounds in pursuing tertiary education. Currently, we are supporting Dilawaiz, daughter of Mr. Khalid and Razia, in her studies to become a nurse. 

In 2018, Influential Missions traveled to Pakistan to witness firsthand the life-changing impact of our local partnerships. A highlight of the trip was celebrating the graduation of our sewing school students, followed by a meaningful gathering with widows and their children. In collaboration with Asher and Sadaf, we extended our reach to the brickmaking communities, conducting medical clinics at various brickyards and distributing blankets to families to provide warmth and comfort.

Together, we are delivering sustainable aid and remain committed to this partnership to ensure continued support and empowerment for the Christian community in Pakistan.

The COVID-19 pandemic left a legacy of severe, compound disruptions for Australian families. Today, that burden is amplified by a rising cost of living that has pushed many to a breaking point—struggling to afford basic groceries or facing the looming threat of homelessness. Influential Missions has stepped in to support our own community during these volatile times. Through a referral network of schools and partner organizations, we identify families in crisis and provide immediate relief. By leveraging Woolworths delivery, we ensure that fresh food reaches their doorstep within an hour of a request, restoring stability when it’s needed most. Influential Missions has a partnership with a local church to provide food parcels over Christmas time.

In December 2023, Influential Missions expanded its outreach by partnering with a registered charity in South Africa. This initiative holds deep personal significance for several of our board members, as it directly supports the Afrikaner community. Our primary goal is to provide financial stability to a local organization struggling to meet the immense needs of its people. Specifically, our funding focuses on supporting a domestic shelter, providing refuge for women and children in Rustenburg, and covering essential medical expenses, such as chronic medication, for the elderly. We occasionally support other projects as well, when funds are available.
